Microsoft essentials not updating
Many times we don't have Internet connection in our systems, in this situation how would you update MSE so that it can detect and remove all known virus and spyware? You can download offline installers for all latest MSE virus definition updates using a system which have a working Internet connection and then you can run that offline installer in any other system to update MSE virus definitions.
For the last couple of days, MSE doesn't fails to update, remaining stuck at version 1.75.119 I presume that an error log is created somewhere, or an event log, but I don't know where to find those. Tried it at home, at work and friends places, but never works.
Restarting it can help reset the connection and enable proper updating.
Under Windows 7, click "Start" and type "services.msc" into the search box.
Recently I covered how to install Microsoft Security Essentials in Windows Server 2012 R2, however after performing a Windows update it failed to install with error 0x8004FF04.
Here I will discuss why this happens and then cover how to resolve this problem and update Microsoft Security Essentials manually.
Click "Enter" and locate "Windows Update" in the new dialog.
